Accessories in Malta Living: hats, shades, gold hoops and more
If you've been waiting for life sim accessories that show on your character, not just in a list, Boutique in Malta Living has a new tab. Accessories puts hats, glasses, earrings, necklaces, watches, bags and shoes on the Wear screen, beside your clothes, and every piece goes on you the moment you tap it.

One of each, top to toe
You can wear one piece in each of seven places: your head, your eyes, your ears, your neck, your wrist, a bag and your feet. Pick a place from the chips under the tabs and its pieces show as a grid. Yours come first under Yours, each with a green tick; the ones you could buy follow, with their prices. Tap None to leave a place bare.
Six pieces are free to everyone, so the tab is never empty: plain studs, a plain watch, a beaded bracelet, a canvas tote, white trainers and flip-flops.
Where they come from
Two counters at The Point sell most of them. Xemx, Maltese for "sun", has hats, glasses and bags: a straw sun hat, a panama, classic shades, aviators, a crossbody bag and an evening clutch. Filigrana is the jeweller, with gold hoops, pearl drops, a Maltese cross pendant and silver filigree drops, a nod to the silversmiths of Republic Street in Valletta. A few more are at the shops you know from The Point: a beanie and a backpack at Ollie & Co., a choker at Nightshade, a band club cap at Zara, sports shades and a gym bag at Sport & Sea.
Try it on, then decide
Tap a piece you don't own and it's on you, with a small chip at the foot of the stage naming it, its price and an × to take it off. The person at the counter says a word in a bubble that never covers your face. If you like it, Buy and wear puts it on for good; Buy keeps it in your wardrobe and leaves your look as it was.
One buy gets every colour. Hats, glasses, bags and shoes come in all eighteen colours of the clothes; earrings, chains, the bangle and the gold watch come in gold, silver or rose gold. Change the colour any time, free.
What it costs
Most pieces cost about a shift's pay: a baseball cap €12, classic shades €15, a straw sun hat €25, gold hoops €40, a fascinator €60. A Maltese cross pendant is €90 and a pearl strand €180. Five are worth saving for: silver filigree drops €250, gold-frame shades €320, a festa gold chain €450, a leather handbag €550 and a gold watch €600. Everything is game euros.
On you, everywhere
Everyone near you sees what you wear: at home, at a party, at the beach. Walkers far away on the map show hats, glasses and bags, the things you'd spot from across a square. In the sea or a pool your hat, glasses, bag and shoes come off and your jewellery stays on, as it would. For more on dressing up, see Dress the part, and for ink to go with it, Ink Studio. Everything else in the game starts at the Malta life simulator guide. The real silver filigree tradition is described by Heritage Malta.
On your face too
The round face beside your name shows them as well: in Gossip, in chats, in My people and on your card, your hat, glasses, earrings and necklace are there with your clothes and hair, and so is a tattoo on your neck or shoulder. It's one small picture, drawn once and kept, so long lists stay quick; change your look and it's drawn again.
Questions people ask
Do I have to pay for accessories?
No. Six are free to everyone: plain studs, a plain watch, a beaded bracelet, a canvas tote, white trainers and flip-flops. The rest cost game euros, never real money.
Can I wear two hats or two necklaces?
No, one piece in each place. A new hat replaces the one you had on, so your character always reads clearly.
Do other players see my accessories?
Yes. Everyone in the same room or place sees what you wear, and from far away on the map they see your hat, glasses and bag.
