After the bank job: Detective Ivana, the police at the bank and the party in Malta Living
The getaway is over and the split is in your account, but what happens after the bank job is part of the game too. In Malta Living, the free life sim played in your browser, a Harbour Bank job opens a police case on everyone in the crew, and the police don't forget.

Detective Ivana
Every job opens or extends a case on you: an hour after your first job of the day, longer after each next one. While it's open, Detective Ivana may stop you as you arrive somewhere, at most once an hour. She asks one question, and you pick from three answers:
- A cool one that keeps a straight face. She lets you go.
- An okay one. Nothing happens, for now.
- A shaky one, the answer that gives you away. That's one more bank star.
Walking off without answering counts as shaky. The answers come in a different order every time, so read them. She never sends you to the cell and never takes money: she just makes the next job a little riskier, because stars make a catch likelier.
How long the case stays open
The case runs an hour after your first job of a Malta day, three hours after the second, six after the third, and twelve after any more. A new job never shortens it. Your bank stars don't fade at all while it's open; once it goes cold they fade one every two hours while you lie low at home or offline, and every four hours out and about. The phone shows it on the stars pill under the top bar ("case open"), so you always know whether Ivana could be waiting at your next stop.
The police at the bank
For half an hour after any job, the police are at Harbour Bank and nobody can rob it. You can still go in, but it isn't a normal visit. The teller's hands are shaking and a woman at the counter wants to talk. You can tell the police what you saw (a line in Gossip, nobody named), calm the teller down (good for your Charisma), or keep your head down and bank. If you were in the crew, a detective comes over with a question of his own, and a shaky answer brings a star back.
The party and the photo
The getaway ends at a crew member's home. The host can throw a party straight from the escape screen with the usual party tools, and everyone else can take the group photo for the host's visit log. It's the best part of a clean job.
Before your next one, read about the ATMs round Malta, or start with the Malta life simulator guide. Real police interviews are rather less multiple choice (Wikipedia: police interrogation).
Questions people ask
Can Detective Ivana send me to the cell?
No. The worst she can do is add a bank star. Stars fade once your case goes cold, lying low at home or offline.
How do I avoid her?
Lie low while your case is open. She only comes while a case is open on you, and at most once an hour.
Do I lose anything going into the bank while the police are there?
No money, ever. If you were in the job, keep a straight face for the detective's question.
