Out on the water in Malta Living: boat trips to Comino, Sliema and Gozo
Boat trips are here in Malta Living, the free life sim you play in your browser. If you own a boat, you can now take her out: to the Blue Lagoon at Comino, to the sunset off Sliema, or across the channel to Gozo. The skipper drives, you pay her fuel, and you arrive somewhere worth the trip.
Where your boat is
Go to where she waits. That's her marina (Msida Marina or Portomaso), the Birgu Waterfront for a superyacht, Mġarr in Gozo, or your home's jetty if she's moored there. Her card on the place's panel has a Go out tile. No boat yet? Boats and yachts explains how to buy one, from a €9,000 luzzu.
Where to
Tap Go out and the skipper asks Where to? Each route is a picture tile with its time:
- Blue Lagoon, Comino. About a minute out. You arrive in the clearest water around, for a swim, the kiosk and the lagoon's own things to do.
- Sunset off Sliema. Under a minute. The golden hour from the water, and then the promenade.
- Mġarr, Gozo. A minute and a half across the channel, for a sailboat and up. A luzzu or a RIB isn't built for open sea, and her tile says so instead of letting you pick it.
Pick one and tap Cast off. The button shows the fuel for that trip.
What a trip costs
Every trip pays your boat's fuel, once, from your wallet:
- a luzzu €6, a RIB €12, a sailboat €20;
- a motor yacht €60, a superyacht €250.
If your connection drops and you tap again, the game sends the same request, so you never pay twice. You see one line in the Bank: "Fuel", with her name and where you went.
What stops a trip
- She's docked. If she owes her week of berth and insurance, pay it in Cars → Boats first.
- You're not with her. Go to where she is.
- You're busy. Finish what you're doing first.
- Not enough for the fuel. The button tells you how much you need.
Once you've cast off, you're on your way: like any trip, it can't be stopped halfway. Only you can take your boat out. Friends come aboard with boat parties, next.

Questions people ask
Does the skipper cost extra?
No. The skipper drives every boat for now, and the fuel is the only cost of a trip.
Can I take a RIB to Gozo?
No. Gozo is open sea, so it's for a sailboat, a motor yacht or a superyacht. A RIB or a luzzu can go to the Blue Lagoon or the sunset off Sliema.
Can I bring friends?
Not yet. Boat parties, with friends aboard, come next.
What do I do when I get there?
Whatever the place has. The Blue Lagoon has its swim and its kiosk, Sliema its promenade, and Gozo the whole island from Mġarr.
