Parking with a choice in Malta Living
Parking in Malta Living now gives you a small, clear decision at the end of a drive. Keep looking for a nearby space, or leave the car farther away and walk. The time and the effect on your needs are visible before you choose, and neither option adds a parking charge.
It is part of getting somewhere. You plan the journey in Get around as usual, choose your car and set off. At a busy destination, the journey quote warns that parking may take a little longer. If there is a space when you arrive, carry on. If the nearby bays are full, the parking choice appears over the map.

Time or Energy?
Look nearby takes 20 seconds and costs 3 Fun. It is a short search with a definite end: when the countdown finishes, you have a space. You do not have to keep tapping, win a game or wait for another random result.
Use a farther bay takes a five-second walk and costs 5 Energy. The map shows you walking from the parked car toward the place. This is the quicker choice when you would rather get on with your visit and have the Energy to spare.
Both costs are fixed. There is no hidden bad result that doubles the penalty after you tap. Your ordinary needs still change as time passes, and Fun cannot fall below zero. If you do not have 5 Energy available, the walking choice explains what is missing; looking nearby remains available.
A little hassle, with a limit
Parking trouble can happen at the existing busy destinations in Sliema, St Julian’s and Valletta. It starts after your first day and is limited to one parking hassle per account per Malta day. You can still drive elsewhere and return later without collecting another parking interruption that day.
A road incident and a parking hassle do not pile onto the same drive. If a traffic incident already added a delay, or you chose the accident’s Park and walk alternative, that journey gets no extra parking search. The ordinary journey quote continues to show the fare and travel time.
This keeps the decision useful: save Energy by spending a little more time, or use your Energy to reach the place sooner. It does not make every drive a new obstacle. There is no parking mini-game in this version.
Close it, come back to it
You can put the choice aside to use the phone or look around the map. A Choose parking button brings it back. The local activities and any queued trip wait until you have dealt with the car, so starting something else cannot accidentally skip the parking step.
Once you choose, the countdown belongs to that arrival. Reloading the game does not start it again. If you close the game during the search or walk, the time keeps passing and the parking finishes while you are away. A repeated tap or another tab uses the same saved choice, without taking the need cost again.
Remember where you left the car
Parking uses the existing car-location system. The car stays in the destination area when you leave by another way. Open Cars, choose My garage and use Back to your car to plan the return. You can reach a car outside a closed venue without opening the venue’s activities.
Read the cars, bikes and scooters guide for the other ways to travel, or explore the phone apps to find your garage and journey planner. The money and investments guide covers owning cars, while the Malta Living guide introduces the wider game. For journeys outside the game, the official Malta Public Transport website provides its journey planner and service information.

Questions people ask
Does the parking choice charge extra game euros?
No. The nearby search costs Fun and the farther bay costs Energy. Your ordinary driving fare and any applicable Valletta access charge remain part of the journey quote.
Can I get parking trouble on every drive?
No. There is at most one parking hassle per account per Malta day, and your first day is protected. A drive already delayed by a traffic incident gets no extra parking hassle.
Will reloading restart my parking countdown?
No. The server keeps the same arrival, choice and finish time. The search or walk continues while the game is closed.
