Portomaso Marina is open in Malta Living: yachts under the tower

Portomaso Marina is open in Malta Living, the free life sim you play in your browser. The building site in St Julian's has become the island's smartest marina: motor yachts at their berths under the round glass tower, a charter desk, a bar on the quay, and a superyacht you can't miss. If you own a motor yacht, this is where she waits.

Getting there

Open Get around, search for "portomaso" and tap Portomaso Marina. It's in St Julian's, a short walk from Paceville, and it's always open. You come in along the quay, with the charter desk and the bar behind you and the boats in front.

What to do there

• Portomaso Yacht Charters. Read the charter board (Comino at sunset, Gozo for the day, a night off Sliema) or chat with Leanne at the desk. She knows every skipper on the island.
• The marina bar. A virgin mojito for €6 or a flat white for €2.80, with a view of other people's yachts. Aisha says nobody orders a coffee after six.
• The quay. Walk round the basin under the tower, take a photo with it, and at sunset watch the hulls turn gold.
• The berths. Look round the yachts: two decks, three decks, a hot tub on one.
• The superyacht. The charter company's own, three decks and a helipad, polished every day by her crew.

Every boat has a home:

• Msida Marina for luzzus, RIBs and sailboats (see Msida Marina).
• Portomaso for motor yachts.
• The Grand Harbour for superyachts: yours waits at the Birgu Waterfront, by the Maritime Museum, and her card shows on the quay's panel when you're there.
• Mġarr, Gozo for any boat. A luzzu or a RIB berthed there sits in the harbour among the fishing boats, and her card shows when you arrive in Gozo.

No. Anyone can walk the quay, have a drink at the bar, read the charter board and admire the superyacht.
