Bring anyone on the job: a bank heist with friends in Malta Living

By

A bank heist with friends should start the way a night out does: someone says "who's in?" and people tap yes. In Malta Living, the free life sim you play in your browser, that's now how a job at Harbour Bank works. You plan it, you send it to anyone, and your friends are in after a single tap. No club to join first, no hunting for the bank.

A job's card in a group chat: the crew's name, the vault, everyone's faces with an empty seat, a countdown, and I'm in

Plan it like a party

At Harbour Bank, open Tonight's job. It's three steps: case the bank, get gear at Club Shady, then plan and invite. Only the last one is needed; the other two make the night easier.

When you plan, you give the crew a name (or roll one: the dice suggests things like The Late Shift), pick a countdown of 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes, and choose where you celebrate after: your place, Club Shady, or split up. The money never depends on that choice. Everyone is paid to their wallet the moment the getaway ends.

Then invite. The picker is the same one you use for a party, as a sheet over the job: search anyone by name, tap friends and people you've done a job with, add a group or a club chat, post it on Gossip, or share the job's link on WhatsApp or Instagram. The game writes the message for you ("Need 2 more for The Late Shift 👀"), and you can change it before you send. Four seats in all.

One tap in

Your friends get a card in the chat: the crew's name, the vault, everyone's faces with the empty seats, and a countdown that ticks. I'm in takes the seat straight away. Then you pick your part, and your prep shows as one-tap rows: your mask, your part's tool, the trip to the bank, your Energy. Each has its own Go.

A link opened outside the game shows the job's own page, signed in or not. New players see who's asking and the seats left, with one line saying jobs are for 18+, and land on the job after signing up. If a link is slow, it says so after eight seconds with Try again, instead of spinning forever.

People first, then parts, then in

In the lobby the host sees who's coming and where each of them is. The risk is one word, Low to Very high, and every warning has its fix beside it: Go for your own mask, Nudge for a crewmate's, Invite one more for an empty seat. Fix one and the word drops straight away.

Parts come next, together. With three of you, the part nobody takes is shown in amber and shared out. With two, you each play two parts. Want someone else's part? Tap it to ask them to swap. There are no ready taps: the countdown is the ready. At zero it starts with everyone at the bank, or the host taps Start now once two of you are there. Alone? Go solo and play every part yourself, for a smaller take; if nobody else turns up by zero, the host gets two minutes to go solo or call it off. If the host has to leave, the lead passes to whoever's at the bank, and nobody loses anything.

The night itself

One NEXT bar sits at the top of the screen all night with the one thing to do: grab a mask, meet the crew, kill the cameras, crack the vault. From the moment you tap I'm in until the job's result is closed, everything else in the game waits: no daily streak, no pop-ups. What waited comes back after as one "While you were on the job" card.

Inside, each part is a scene. The hacker repeats patterns on a console to kill a wall of camera feeds. The lookout taps GO while the guard's torch is turned away. The safecracker works the vault door's dial, keypad or time lock. The driver keeps the car ready outside, then everyone grabs what they can as the vault opens: cash stacks, gold bars, the bank's own boxes. Greed makes noise, so every grab adds a little alarm. The alarm decides how it ends: Clean, a Close call, or Messy.

Then the reveal, one by one: who got away. The split shows what's in the bag as "up to" each share, and the result starts from that same figure: if the alarm cut it, one line says so ("Close call: the alarm cut the bag from €7,000 to €6,482, so your share is €2,160"). The money lands in your wallet, and if someone was caught, their share goes back to the vault and the screen says so plainly. The host starts the party with one tap. What happens after the job covers Detective Ivana and the police at the bank, and casing the bank covers the gear. New to the island? Start with the Malta life simulator guide, or read the bank heist game guide for the parts in full.

Heist stories have always been about the crew more than the vault (Wikipedia: heist film), and that's what this change is for: getting your friends in, fast.

Questions people ask

Do my friends need to join a club to come on a job?

No. Any invite works: a name, a group or club chat, a Gossip post the host says yes to, or the job's link. I'm in takes the seat in one tap.

What happens if only two of us turn up?

The host can start with two. You each play two parts, one after the other, and each part is a bit harder. With three, one person plays two.

Where does my share go when the job ends?

Straight into your wallet when the getaway ends, wherever the crew celebrates. If you're caught, your share goes back to the vault instead.

Can I stop the countdown?

The host can start early or call it off. The countdown pauses by itself while the police, or another crew, are at the bank.
