Share a Big shares business with a friend

By

Want to share a Big shares business with a friend? Found one worth owning in Malta Living? Now you can send it. Every business in Big shares has a Share button in its header and a Share this business row under the buy button, and the link it sends opens straight on that business, even for someone who doesn't play yet.

What your friend sees

The link opens on the business: its picture, what a share costs, what a share makes a day, who runs it and how many shares they hold, and the ladder with its two marks, 250 to run it and 400 at most. It is read only. To buy, your friend taps Play free to buy a share, joins (free, 18+), and the game opens Invest on the same business. Because the link carries your name, a friend who signs up through it is your invite, with the same welcome and limits as your invite link.

Why we added it

Big shares is better with friends: a restaurant on Spinola Bay is more fun when your cousin owns a piece of it too, and a takeover bid is a story you want somebody to see. Until now, the only way to show a friend a business was to describe it, or hand them your phone. Gossip had already become the place people send things from, and its posts had their own links; a business deserved one as well. So every business now has an address of its own, which you can paste anywhere.

What it looks like in a chat

In WhatsApp, Instagram, X or a text, the link shows a card, built with Open Graph tags: the business's clay picture, its name, the price a share, what a share makes a day, the person running it with their face, and the ladder. Nobody has to open it to see why you sent it.

What it never shows

A shared link shows only what every player already sees in Invest: the business and who runs it. It never shows what anyone has paid, anyone else's shares, listings, takeover bids or money. If the player running a business has hidden themselves from the Top 10, or has been banned, the card says the house runs it. A business that hasn't opened yet gives nothing at all, only that it isn't open yet.

More about Big shares

Big shares explains how shares, running a business and takeovers work, and Share Gossip with anyone is the same idea for Gossip posts. New to the game? Start with what Malta Living is.

Questions people ask

How do I share a business in Big shares?

Open Invest, then Big shares, then the business, and tap Share in its header or Share this business under the buy button. On a computer, where there's no share sheet, it copies the link.

Can someone who doesn't play see a business?

Yes. The link opens on the business without an account, read only. To buy a share they join first, and the game takes them back to the same business.

Who shows as running a business?

The player with the most shares, if they have at least 250 and haven't hidden themselves from the Top 10. Otherwise the card says the house runs it.
