Share a Gossip post with anyone in Malta Living

By

Want to share a Gossip post with a friend who doesn't play yet? In Malta Living, the free life sim of real Malta played in your browser, you can now share a Gossip post with anyone, and the link opens straight on that post. Your friend reads it, and its replies, before they've even made a character.

A shared Gossip post opened on a phone by someone who doesn't play yet: the post, a reply, and Join to reply

Share a post

Open any post in Gossip and tap 🔗 Share at the top. Your phone's share sheet opens, so you can send it on WhatsApp, Instagram or anywhere else; on a computer the link is copied for you. Gossip has become the island's talk, the place where people ask who's up for a swim at sunset, show off a new home or tell everyone about last night's party (see clubs, friends and Gossip), and now a good post can travel beyond the game.

Whoever opens the link sees the post as everyone in the game does: who wrote it, what they said, the reactions and the first replies. They can't react or reply until they join. Join to reply takes them through sign-up, and when they arrive in Malta the game opens Gossip on that same post, so they can jump straight into the conversation.

If a post has been taken down by a moderator, hidden while reports are looked at, or is older than Gossip keeps, the link says the post isn't available, never what it said.

It isn't only Gossip. Every link you share from the game now carries your name and where it came from:

  • your Daily Word grid, and any game you share or win (Bixkla, Ludo, Bus Rush and the rest);
  • your party invite (see house parties and visits);
  • your home's link;
  • your club's invite;
  • a bank job when your crew needs a fourth.

Each one opens the thing itself, with Sign up underneath, so a friend lands where you meant them to. And if they sign up through it, they're your invite, exactly as if they'd used your invite link from Phone → Invite: they get the €250 welcome gift as they arrive, and you get €250 once they've played ten minutes and €500 if they're still playing on day seven. The same limits apply: three friends paid a month and twenty in all, and the same checks hold back a friend who's really your second phone. During a Bring a friend weekend they count toward it too.

Only the first link a new player arrives through counts, and you can never invite yourself.

A link that opens somewhere useful turns about one opener in four into a player, much better than a code to type in. That's why chat apps show a picture and a line for every Malta Living link, using the Open Graph tags they read: a Gossip post's preview shows who wrote it and the first words of the post.

The Malta life simulator guide covers everything else on the island. Play Malta Living free, and next time a post makes you laugh, share it.

Questions people ask

Can someone read a Gossip post without an account?

Yes, if you share its link. They see the post and its first replies, read only. To react or reply they join, and the game brings them back to the post.

Yes. Anyone who signs up through a link you shared from the game is your invite, with the same rewards and limits as your invite link.

What if the post is deleted?

The link then says the post isn't available. It never shows a post that was taken down or hidden.
