Bring a friend weekend: €1,500 for every friend who plays

By

It's the first Malta Living bring a friend weekend: for one weekend, every friend you bring to Malta Living who really plays is worth €1,500 to you. From Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November, all day, Malta time, a friend who makes their account through your invite link and then plays four different days in their first week brings you €1,500 on their day 7. That's on top of the usual €250 and €500, so a friend who sticks with it brings €2,250 in all. New to the island? The Malta life simulator guide explains how a life in the game fits together.

The Invite app on a phone, with the weekend card on top: its countdown, the friends brought so far and each one's days

Where you'll see it

From Thursday the countdown is the first slide in Bonġu!, the island's news on your phone, counting down to Friday and then through the weekend; its Get my link opens your Invite app. In Gossip, the team's one pinned post becomes the countdown, leading with the €1,500; the team's usual pin is back on Monday. And the weekend leads your Invite app, above your link and the WhatsApp, Instagram and QR buttons, which work as they always do. Friends who join before Friday 00:00 are normal invites, so Thursday is the day to send your link and get them ready.

Under the countdown is your weekend so far: how many friends you've brought, what's been paid, and the euros still on the way. Each friend has a row with four dots, one for each day they've played, and the day their week ends. Tap a friend to see their progress, say hi in Messages or play a game together. Friends who feel at home in their first week are the ones who stay, and the easiest way to help is to be there: a club, a game, or a night at your place, the way you'd show a friend round the real islands.

What counts

A day counts when your friend does something real: a shift, an odd job, a game, a chat. Just opening the game doesn't. It's the same day-7 rule invites already use, so there's nothing new to learn.

What decides whether a friend is a weekend friend is when their account is made, on the game's clock. An account made on Sunday at 23:58 counts; one made on Monday at 00:01 is a normal invite, still worth the usual €250 and €500. Any of your links works: your /i/ invite link, your home's link, or a club link that says "via" you. As always, the first link wins.

How it pays

Nothing to claim. On your friend's day 7, the evening check pays the €500 and the €1,500 together, whether you're playing or not, each with its own line in your Bank and a note in Messages. They're earned euros. The next time you open the Invite app, you'll see the €1,500 land.

You can bring up to 10 weekend friends, so up to €15,000 from the weekend. Weekend friends don't count toward the usual 3 paid friends a month, though they do count toward the 20 for life. The referral milestones, badges and bonuses keep working as before, and weekend friends count toward them too.

Fair play

Invites that look like the same person, such as the same phone, the same Wi-Fi or money sent back in the first week, are held for an admin to check, exactly as today. Held is a check, not a no: it pays as soon as an admin clears it, and your friend keeps playing either way. Your friend gets their usual €250 welcome and starts near you, and is never shown what you earn. Game euros are for the game only, never real money, in line with how Malta Living works.

Questions people ask

My friend joined on Saturday but only played three days. Do I get anything?

The €1,500 needs four different days in their first week. The tracker shows "3 of 4 days" until their week ends. You still get the usual €250 once they've played 10 minutes.

No. It's when the account is made that counts, so they're a normal invite.

What happens after Sunday?

The countdown leaves Bonġu! and Gossip at midnight. Your weekend card stays in the Invite app, saying "Weekend over", until the last of your weekend friends' weeks ends, so you can watch their days and see each €1,500 land.
