Earn money in Malta Living: streaks, daily missions and more
By The Malta Living team · Updated
A job is the steady way to earn money in Malta Living, but it isn't the only one. In this free to play Malta life simulator, the Earn app on your phone gathers every other way to make money in one place: a daily streak, three daily missions, a treasure hunt across the island, stories, odd jobs and bigger prizes for later. All of it is paid in game euros, the money you spend inside the game. Here's what each one is and how to get the most from a day.

The Earn app at a glance
At the top, Earn shows two numbers: what you've earned this week, and what you could still earn today. Below them, every way to earn has its own box, all the same size, each with a line on how it's going and what it pays. A mark in the corner tells you where you stand without opening it: ✓ done, ⏳ started, ✕ not yet today, and 🎁 when money is waiting for you. When something is ready, one button collects it, and every box opens its own page with a Go button for everything on it.
Your daily streak
Open Earn once every Malta day and collect your daily streak: €50 from Monday to Saturday, and €150 plus ✨5 on Sunday, the big day. The week runs Monday to Sunday. Miss a day and that tile just goes grey: you don't lose what you've collected, and the count of days you've collected never goes down. The day turns over at midnight, Malta time.
Today's three daily missions
Every day you get three missions of your own, picked for you from 18 and never the same as yesterday's, and they change at midnight. They come in three kinds:
- Easy: a quick one, like the Pastizzi run (pastizzi, flaky savoury pastries, or a coffee) or That harbour view from Upper Barrakka.
- Out & about: something further afield, like Catch the sunset at Golden Bay or Café del Mar, or A bit of history at the War Museum, Ħaġar Qim, the Citadel walls or St Paul's relic.
- Hustle: something with a bit of graft, like Bottle collector on the seafront, in Paceville (the nightlife district of St Julian's) or at Golden Bay.
Each mission pays between €4 and €10, and claiming all three adds a bonus of €15 and ✨2. Missions only send you to places that are open that day, and the Go button says when somewhere opens if it isn't open yet. Tap the mission chip on your screen to go straight there, then tap it again to claim.
Stories, the hunt and your dream
Stories are a few steps across Malta, one activity each. Three new ones are picked for you every midnight, from 20. Every step pays €10, and finishing pays the rest, up to €150 a story. A story you've finished comes back after 7 days, at half pay. The open-top bus tour counts as a story the first time round, and only that one is once per account.
The daily hunt hides a Maltese cross at one place on the map, with a clue. Find it first and you get €50; second and third get €25, up to tenth gets €10, and everyone after that gets €3. A new cross hides at midnight.
Wishes are little things your character would love to do in Malta, and each one you do pays ✨ sparkles. You can swap one wish a day. Sparkles also come from your Sunday streak, the mission bonus, stories and your dream, the big goal you pick for this life: each quarter of the way pays ✨5, and coming true pays ✨25 and a badge. Sparkles buy perks that last your whole life, and they're never sold for money.
Odd jobs, your first day and bigger prizes
Odd jobs are quick paid jobs around the island, no CV needed, like mucking out the stables at Marsa Racetrack. Each pays once a day, and the box lists the ones near you. For steady work, see our guide to life sim jobs and careers. New players also get Your first day: small things to help you find your feet, each with a little money.
Three boxes are for later, when you're settled:
- Invite friends: €250 for them, and up to €750 for you. Theirs comes as they arrive; yours comes after they've played 10 minutes, and on their day 7.
- SOHO pitch night: pitch your idea to investors at SOHO The Strand in Gżira. Win, and they back you with up to €15,000.
- Business START: a grant of up to €10,000 in the game. It's named after the real Business START scheme, Malta Enterprise's early-stage seed funding for small start-ups. A pitch win at SOHO makes your application stronger, but you can apply without one.
