The finishing touch: when accessories count in Malta Living

By

Accessories in Malta Living now do more than look good. If you've wondered whether a life sim accessories bonus is worth chasing, here's the short answer: one piece, on the right outfit, at the right place, gives you a little more of what you came for. We call it the finishing touch.

A place's card on a phone: Golden Bay, Dressed for it: +20% Fun here, and under it, Finishing touch: Straw sun hat, +5% more

How it works

Some places have a dress code, as Dress the part explains: the beaches, the clubs and the gym. Dressed for it, what you do there gives about a fifth more. Now, if you also wear one accessory made for that code, you get 5% more on top: +25% Fun on a swim at Golden Bay in swim shorts and a straw sun hat.

Three rules keep it fair. One piece is enough, and more don't add up, so a hat, shades and flip-flops together still give 5%. It only counts on top of the right clothes: a sun hat with jeans and a T-shirt does nothing at the beach. And it never changes odds, stakes or wins, or anything at work, where a good shift still counts from 65% when you're dressed for it.

What counts where

At the beach: a sun hat, a panama, a bucket hat, a cap or a headscarf, any sunglasses, a beach bag, or flip-flops. At the gym: a baseball cap, sports wraparounds, a sports watch, a gym bag, trainers or running shoes. On a night out: studs or gold hoops, a choker, a thin chain, an evening clutch or cat-eye shades. At a gala: a fascinator, pearls, filigree drops, a watch, a clutch or a handbag. At a festa: the band club cap, a panama, Maltese cross studs or the cross pendant, the festa gold chain, filigree drops, a beaded bracelet or aviators.

Every code has a free one: flip-flops, white trainers, plain studs, a plain watch and a beaded bracelet are everyone's from the start. It's about putting a look together, not spending.

The card tells you

A place's card says it before you go. Dressed for it with the right piece on, it names the piece: "Finishing touch: Straw sun hat, +5% more." Without one, it says what to add, and Pick an accessory opens Boutique's Accessories right where the free piece is. When you arrive, whoever works there notices: "Love the shades. Proper beach day."

Try their look on

Seen something you like on someone? Tap them. Their card has a Wearing row with each piece, its shop and its price, and Try this look on puts all of it on you in Boutique. Keep what you like, buy one piece at a time, or tap the × to go back to your own. Their card shows only the pieces, never what they paid or what else they own. For more ideas, the shops are at The Point. Everything else in the game starts at the Malta life simulator guide, and the real beach that inspired our Golden Bay is on Visit Malta.

Questions people ask

Do I have to buy accessories for the bonus?

No. Every dress code has a free piece that counts: flip-flops at the beach, white trainers at the gym, plain studs on a night out, a plain watch at a gala and a beaded bracelet at a festa.

Do two accessories give 10%?

No. One piece made for the code gives the finishing touch, and more don't add up.

Does my hat still count when I go in the water?

Yes. It's read when you start the swim, so it counts even though your hat comes off in the sea.
