More in Malta Living this October: Top 10, public holidays, music and moments

Big features get their own posts. This one is for everything else that arrived this month: small on their own, but together they change how a day in the game feels. Here's the Malta Living update October 2026 brought, in one place.

Malta's Top 10

Bonġu!, the island's news on your phone, has a new tab: Top 10, the ten richest players by net worth. It shows names, faces, a badge (🥉 €100K+, 🥈 €500K+, 🥇 €1M+, 💎 €10M+) and how far each moved today, but never the euros themselves. Your own place shows only to you. If you'd rather not be listed, Settings → Privacy → Hide me from the Top 10 takes you off. The game's own residents and test accounts are never listed.

Weekly leaderboards for the games

Games → Leaderboards now shows six weekly boards together: Bus Rush, Merge Drop, Ġostra, Snake, Daily Word and Solitaire. Pick a game and see All Malta or just your friends, with your own row highlighted and how that game ranks you. Solitaire ranks the daily deals you solved. A day off on Malta's public holidays

Malta has 14 public holidays, among the most in Europe, and now the game keeps them on their real dates. On a holiday no shift starts. At the midnight after, a job that works that weekday pays you one shift in full, as one of the week's shifts. Jobs shows a banner on the day and the next ones under Coming up, Bonġu! says "Tomorrow is …", and the evening before you get a note if it's your work day. Jobs and shifts are in the careers guide.

Music and listening parties

The Music app has playlists you can build and share, a search by artist and title with artwork, and short previews. Start a listening party and friends hear the same song at the same time, for 24 real hours. Put a song on your profile as your status, and like other players' playlists and songs. It's a good companion to a house party.

Malta moments

Five new moments that anyone who lives here will recognise:

• the neighbour on the balcony opposite, during the day;
• drilling next door at 7am on a weekday;
• a car double-parked with its hazards on, in Sliema, St Julian's or Valletta;
• the pothole that finds your coffee on the bus;
• a bus full to the doors at rush hour.

Each gives you two free choices with a small effect, and none comes back for at least a day.

Moment cards and your Life Card

Big moments become pictures you can send: your first home and car, your first time in Gozo, a new rank, a dream come true, even being arrested and bailed out. Big buys get their own line: "Bought a Porsche. Still stuck behind a bus in Birkirkara." One a day at most.

Your Life Card, from 🔗 Share on your profile, is one picture of your life in the game, with a story line that writes itself. It shows no euros unless you switch on Show my net worth. Switch on Public profile link and maltaliving.world/u/you becomes your public card.

Where everyone is

Map → Activity opens a heatmap of where people are right now: tap the heat for up to four nearby places, busiest first. It shows places, never players.

Swimwear

Everyone has swimwear now, and changes into it by themselves in a tub, a bath or a pool, and back into their clothes the moment they get out. Pick your own under your look, 🩱 Swimwear: swim shorts, a one-piece or a bikini, for any body.
