The Msida Skatepark: back the build, then skate the bowl
By Msida's marina there's a fenced plot with a works board and a crane. In Malta Living it's the Msida Skatepark, the first place players build together, and it opens on Monday 2 November at 18:00. Until then you can back it with game euros; after that, you can skate it. It's a skatepark game inside a life sim: a bowl, rails and a one-thumb mini game, with a skill of its own. Here's how both halves work.

Back the build
Tap the site's pin by Msida marina, or open Invest → Builds. You can:
- Back it with €100 to €2,000 of game euros, and see what your share will pay you a day once it's open.
- Take it all back any time before it opens.
- Lay a €50 brick with your name on it.
- Carry bricks at the site once a day: five minutes' work for €12.
The build needs €40,000. The card counts down to opening night and says plainly that it opens on time whether or not it's fully backed; any part nobody backed stays with the game. On the map you can watch it go up in stages, fences, foundations, ramps and lights, by date or sooner as the backing comes in.
Invest has a new list for this, Money coming in every day, that shows each thing that pays you and what it makes. Investing in Malta Living covers the rest.
Opening night: Monday 2 November
At 18:00 the fences come down and the park appears finished on the map: low railings with the gate open, a blue sign, the bowl, two quarter pipes, a ledge, two rails, floodlights after dark, benches and the board-hire hut.
Backers get the first hour; everyone else comes in from 19:00. Backers also get:
- a note on their phone as it opens;
- their name on the wall, in the order they backed (or not, if they switch it off);
- a founder number and the Founder chip;
- their first board on the house, once, within seven days.
The next build after this one is Il-Magħluq, Marsaxlokk's waterfront, opening for backing on Tuesday 3 November.
Skating: Line
Inside, Skate the bowl and Grind the rails open Line, a 45-second one-thumb game:
- tap to ollie;
- swipe down to drop in;
- hold to grind;
- flick up for a kickflip.
Tricks build a combo up to ×5, and a weekly board pays €50, €30 and €20 to the top three. Bailing is just stepping off: nothing hurts. If you like quick games, the Games app has more.
The Skating skill, boards and shoes
Skating is a new skill. It grows slowly, at most 40 a day, unlocks new tricks as it rises and fades if you stop, like Fitness. Every round also gives a little Fitness.
- Hire a board at the park for €5 a day, or buy a Skateboard (€60) on Buy's new Sport shelf.
- Skate shoes from Zara (€45) make Line's timing easier: you'll see "👕 Dressed for it".
At Skating 3 you can teach a kids' lesson at the skatepark: €15, once a day, and +3 Charisma. There's a new easy mission, "Land an ollie" (€4), and a new story, "Msida local", in Earn.
Why a skatepark in Msida
Msida sits on the harbour between Valletta and Sliema, with the university up the hill. It's a place young people pass through every day, and the plot by the marina felt like the right spot for the game's first shared build: something players fund, watch go up and then use together.
