The party aboard in Malta Living: cast off, jump in, sound the horn

Your friends have five minutes to get aboard. Then it's the swim stop, the toast and, when the vibe peaks, the skipper's horn.

Boarding

Throw a party on your boat as before (our guide to boat parties covers the kinds of night, the fuel and inviting people). When it starts, the party's panel shows Boarding: how many of her seats are taken, and a ring running down to casting off. Everyone you invited who comes to her berth in those five minutes is aboard.

Running late? The host can tap ⏳ Wait 5 more min, once. After that, she goes when she goes.

Missed the boat

Once she has cast off, nobody new walks aboard. A friend who reaches the marina after that sees Missed the boat. It's the one rule of a boat party that a home party doesn't have, and it's why everyone turns up on time.

All is not lost, though. While she's out at sea, the card at her berth offers 🚤 Water taxi out to her, for €30, the same fare as the water taxi from the Blue Lagoon. Tap it once and you're aboard with everyone, in time for the swim and the horn. Once the party's over and she's heading home, the water taxi stops running.

Out at sea: the swim stop

Out on the water, the party plays like any other: drinks are free, there's dancing, and the toast comes when the vibe is high (see the party vibe for how it fills). The boat adds Swim stop. Tap it and you jump in off the stern: a dive is +8 Fun, once a party.

Had a few too many? Then it's feet in only: +3 Fun, no dive, and nothing worse. The sea is for fun, not for trouble.

The three goals aboard

At home the goals are a game, the toast and the drop. Aboard they are:

• 🤸 A swim. The first dive off the stern ticks it.
• 🥂 The toast. Everyone up front, glasses raised, when the vibe gets going.
• 📯 The horn. The boat's drop.

Hit all three and it's a Legendary night: more Fun and Social for everyone aboard when it ends.

The horn

When the vibe is past halfway, the host can tap 📯 Sound the horn. For twenty seconds everyone aboard taps with the beat, a cannonball for every tap that lands, and the horn fills the bay. It's the drop from a party at home, with the sea for a dance floor.

The deck photo and the share card

Near the end comes the deck photo, with everyone who came. When the party is over, the recap shows your Fun and Social and the photo to share. The share card names the night and the boat ("Sunset cruise on Sea Breeze") and how many came. It never shows what she cost.

One swim per party each. A dive gives +8 Fun and can tick the swim goal; feet in only gives +3.
