A clearer story before your pitch at SOHO

By

Your idea might be good, but the listener still needs a way into it. The SOHO pitch slides in Malta Living now begin with a short explanation and an optional example, giving you a moment to understand the task before the clock starts. The round itself keeps its five slides, familiar tap controls and twenty-second limit.

This is the warm-up before your investor pitch at SOHO The Strand. It helps you put the story in a useful order. It does not replace building your deck, rehearsing investor questions or making the actual pitch. Those parts of the startup journey remain connected as described in our SOHO startup guide.

The SOHO slide brief showing the chosen startup idea, five illustrated slide cards, Arrange the slides and the optional example

Read the brief, then choose your pace

Open The pitch in SOHO's place panel when your daily pitch is available. Your chosen startup idea appears before the round, with Change leading back to the deck's idea picker. You do not have to guess which idea you are about to present.

Arrange the slides starts the exercise. If this is your first attempt, Show an example explains the five parts first. Reading the brief or looking at that example does not use the round's time. When you are ready, My turn begins the same twenty seconds.

If you already know what you want to do, Skip: start the pitch remains available. It goes to the usual investor pitch. There is no requirement to complete the slide game before carrying on.

Give each slide a clear job

The story starts with the Problem: what needs fixing? The Solution follows with your idea for fixing it. Market explains who needs that solution. Team gives the listener a reason to believe you can deliver it. The ask finishes with what you want the listener to do.

The five cards are shuffled. Tap the one you want first, then the next one. Each chosen card shows its place in your order. If you change your mind, tap a chosen card again to take it out, then continue choosing. This keeps the existing controls simple enough to use with one finger.

Your fifth choice sends the order for checking. If time runs out first, the untapped cards are added in the order they were dealt, just as before. The result shows which positions were right and which need another look.

A useful hint, close to the action

Hint sits beside the round's actions. Open it when you need a little guidance about the next part of the story, and collapse it when you want the space back. The clock continues while the hint is open, so the round still lasts twenty seconds.

A wrong result points out a specific part to improve. Starting with the solution, for example, asks the listener to understand an idea before hearing the problem. Order again reshuffles the same five slide types for another attempt. It gives you another chance to make the sequence feel natural, rather than introducing a different game.

Know what was counted

The server checks each submitted order. The day's first correct order teaches a little Charisma under the existing daily rule. Later correct rounds do not add that learning again, and arranging the slides never improves your funding chances or awards money.

If a reply does not arrive, the screen says the check is unconfirmed and keeps your arrangement. Check again asks the server about that order again. A lost reply may have followed an accepted check; the existing daily learning rule still prevents a second learning benefit.

Back to SOHO leaves the warm-up without starting a pitch. It does not undo a check that the server already accepted. Start the pitch is a separate, deliberate choice, with the same daily access and investor rules.

SOHO's other work remains available through its existing routes. Explore jobs and careers or the phone's apps when you want another part of your day. The venue takes its name from SOHO Office Space, whose official site lists The Strand in Gżira. You can play Malta Living free and follow the wider journey in our Malta Living introduction.

Questions people ask

When does the SOHO slide timer start?

When you tap Arrange the slides or My turn. Reading the short brief or optional example first does not use the round's twenty seconds.

Can I remove a slide after choosing it?

Yes. Tap that card again to take it out of your sequence, then continue choosing the order.

Does a better slide order improve my funding chances?

No. The slide warm-up keeps its existing daily Charisma rule, while the investor pitch keeps its own eligibility and funding rules.

What should I do if my slide result does not arrive?

Use Check again to submit the kept arrangement to the server, carry on with the pitch or go back to SOHO. The screen does not count a local guess as a confirmed result.
