Short of people for the heist? Ask friends in one tap

By

Planning a job and one friend short? You can now ask friends to join your crew in one tap. In Malta Living, the free life sim you play in your browser, a bank job has four seats. When two of you are in and seats are still free, your lobby says so, and a single button sends the invite.

A heist lobby: the crew's faces, 2 of 4, 2 seats left, the start time, and a blue Ask friends button above Start

The seats-left card

Once you've planned a job and a second person is in, a card appears at the top of your lobby: the faces so far, "2 of 4", how many seats are left, when the job starts and a line that you can start with who you have, but a full crew pulls off more. Only the person leading the job sees it, and only while there's time before the start.

Ask friends

Tap Ask friends and your phone's own share sheet opens with a short message, like "2 seats left · 21:00 · Harbour Bank. A pretend job, a real crew. Come and be part of it.", and a link. Send it to a group chat, a friend, anywhere. The link carries your name, so the game knows who asked.

What your friend sees

A friend who isn't playing yet opens the link and sees "2 seats left tonight", who's putting the crew together and when, the faces in so far and a big Take a seat. It's free, runs in the browser and is for people 18 and over. They sign up, pick a part and they're in. A friend who already plays lands on the job's card instead.

Ask again when a seat is still open

The button stays on your lobby while seats are free, so you can send the link again to another chat before the start time. Each person who joins through it fills a seat, and the card counts down with them.

You're told when they join

When someone signs up through your link, you get a note in Messages: "Ben joined your crew through your link". It comes once per person. Your lobby then shows one seat left, and you can ask again.

Nothing here changes what a job pays. It's the same invite and the same join sheet, with a simpler way to ask. For choosing between going alone and bringing people, see alone or with a crew; the bank heist game guide explains each part. New here? Start with the Malta life simulator guide. A crew short one member is a heist-film staple (Wikipedia: heist film).

Questions people ask

Who sees the seats-left card?

Only the leader of the job, once at least two people are in, there are seats free and the start time hasn't passed.

Does Ask friends cost anything?

No. It only opens your phone's share sheet. Nothing is paid or charged for asking.

What if my friend doesn't have the game?

They can open the link, see the seats and sign up from it. Jobs are for 18 and over, and the link says so.

Do I have to wait for a full crew?

No. You can start with who you have, but a full crew pulls off more.
